The National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) is a grassroots organization of volunteers and advocates who turn progressive ideals into action. Inspired by Jewish values, NCJW strives for social justice by improving the quality of life for women, children and families and by safeguarding individual rights and freedoms.
For over 30 years, NCJW-Miami has held a large space in my heart as well as my hands. I have visited child care centers, helped to build a home with Habitat for Humanity, chaired the Mother's Day Fundraiser advocating for reproductive rights, marched in Tallahassee and Washington, DC, held every leadership position, including President, all to benefit the lives of others.
What first began as an easy opportunity for me to invest my time and energy in a organization separate from raising our children, has grown into so much more. I’ve come to realize that NCJW is vital to our advocacy as women, for women. NCJW exists not just for ourselves as individuals, but as mothers, daughters, sisters, aunts, friends, and more. As I continue to advocate, I realize that my work with this long standing organization is really in support of my daughter, my daughter’s friends, my friend’s daughters, the women who came before me and those who will come after me.
