National Council of Jewish Women Miami

The National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) is a grassroots organization of volunteers and advocates who turn progressive ideals into action.

Inspired by Jewish values, NCJW strives for social justice by improving the quality of life for women, children and families and by safeguarding individual rights and freedoms.

Since its inception over a century ago, NCJW has upheld the right to reproductive choice. NCJW MIAMI, along with its partner sections throughout Florida will continue to advocate endlessly to ensure that reproductive choice is a personal decision unencumbered by legislation.  NCJW MIAMI advocates meet with federal, state and local legislators to fight to mitigate the ever-growing efforts to limit choice and the impact of the reversal of Roe v. Wade. 

NCJW MIAMI is fighting for Reproductive Justice. Reproductive Justice allows for each individual to make decisions about when to have a child, how to carry the pregnancy, how to give birth, and how to raise that child.

PRO-TRUTH FLORIDA

NCJW MIAMI works with its coalition partners to protect reproductive rights and ensure safe and accessible reproductive health care. PRO-TRUTH FLORIDA is a campaign and a movement to fight the deceptive tactics of FAKE CLINICS, also known as anti-abortion "crisis-pregnancy centers" in Florida. There are over 2000 crisis pregnancy centers in the United States and close to 200 in Florida.

The purpose of "crisis-pregnancy centers" is to prevent people who are or think they are pregnant from choosing and accessing abortion. They are unapologetic about using shame, false medical information or faith to ensure that pregnancies are carried to term, regardless of the person's choice. The staff, usually not doctors or healthcare professionals are notorious for spreading myths and misinformation about the risks associated with abortion. 

The Greater Miami Section of NCJW has a 100 year history of standing up for reproductive rights and freedoms. With Pro-Truth Florida, the section is helping ensure that pregnant people can access honest, reliable, caring and professional healthcare.

Please join and support us on GIVE MIAMI DAY 2024 as we bring the power of NCJW MIAMI to join Floridians fighting for justice. Funds are needed to continue to do fieldwork, create educational programs and materials and provide our volunteers with resources to advocate to turn back the tide of lies.
