Innovative Solutions for Disadvantage & Disability (ISDD) was founded in 2004 to promote health equity among children living in social and economic disadvantage with or at risk for disability in the Atlanta Metro Area. Our mission is to create healthier outcomes for vulnerable children and families enabling our vision of healthy, functioning families -> successful children. We accomplish this mission through:

Project GRANDD

(Grandparents Raising And Nurturing Dependents with Disabilities)

Children end up in the care of grandparents usually because of some traumatic event. It isn't planned or expected, but grandparents step up to raise these children when the parents cannot. 

These families face many challenges. Fixed senior incomes only stretch so far.  Educational, health and social service systems can be difficult to navigate and often don't consider the needs of an older adult who is now raising a child. All of these challenges are magnified when the child has special needs. Grandparents feel helpless, alone and without a safety net.

This is where Project GRANDD comes in. It is the only caregiver program in Georgia providing supportive services to grandparents raising grandchildren with developmental disabilities, chronic health conditions and learning and behavior disorders. We have grown to be the largest provider of these services in the Atlanta Metro Area, serving more than 200 families. Project GRANDD provides support groups, individual/family case management, training, education and referrals to support stable, safe and loving families. All services are provided at no charge. We give these families a chance to be successful. Your donation will help make that possible.
