Help support Land Acquisition at Crex Meadows Wildlife Area near Grantsburg, WI.  The Friends of Crex has been raising funds since 2010 to purchase critical privately owned lands within the boundaries of Crex Meadows, Fish Lake and Amsterdam Sloughs Wildlife Area when they come up for sale.  The Land Acquisition Fund is designed to be a revolving source of money to acquire the land and hold it until the State of Wisconsin can buy it back from us. Upon repayment, we return the money to the fund and it is ready for the next land conservation project. Dollar for dollar, the Land Acquisition Fund can protect numerous pieces of land from development. In fact, in the first six years that the fund has been in existence, we have preserved over 667 acres of land, utilizing just $204,000 in donated funds.  Our most recent acquisition is a wonderful mix of woodland and wet marsh that will provide more great public land for people to recreate on and widens an undeveloped corridor for wildlife at the Glacial Lake Grantsburg Wildlife Management Complex.

There is more land to be protected from development, and we need your help.  All donations are vital to our program.  When you donate $30 or more to the Friends of Crex Land Acquisition Fund we will send you an honorary Land Deed to land at Crex Meadows Wildlife Area, complete with GPS coordinates.  All donors are also invited to our annual Land Acquisition Picnic, held in August, to allow you to view your honorary land parcel and get a personal tour of newly acquired lands.
