Thank you for supporting Duck Team 6 on North Texas Giving Day 2022!

In 2010, I accidentally got involved with street dog rescue when I came across a dog that was hanging out on the embankment of 635 in north Dallas. I tried to get the dog into my car and quickly realized that it's not that easy. A few weeks later, after I'd met several other people who were more versed than I was in rescue, "LBJ Dog" was captured and transferred to a local no-kill shelter and I was hooked.

Over the next several months, I worked on many more cases and after a while, my friends and I started getting requests to help them catch street dogs. We started to get really good at it, and in August 2012, Duck Team 6 was officially created.

These past 10 years have meant the world to me. Even now that I'm no longer crawling under buildings or staying up until 3am on a capture case, I'm SO PROUD of all the volunteers who keep the legacy going - who spend all their free time on capture cases, who answer dozens of emails each week asking for help, who build dog runs, who teach children how to be kind to animals, who organize meet & greets and home visits and keep track of microchips and schedule vet appointments.

Without our amazing volunteers, Duck Team 6 would not be able to help all the dogs that we do. So this fundraiser is in honor of all the volunteers who keep DT6 running - from capture to placement to outreach to administrative to marketing to fosters to finance. I LOVE YOU ALL!
