Living in rural areas and facing economic constraints can limit educational opportunities. Systemic discrimination, such as implicit bias, can lead to unequal access to resources and opportunities that would advance one's prospects. And studies prove children from lower incomes typically start their elementary school careers behind more economically advanced peers. This "achievement gap" can persist throughout their educational journey if not addressed. We know that early learning opportunities are crucial for young children and that 90% of a child’s brain development occurs in the first five years of life, so it is critical that all children have access to early learning programs to develop a solid foundation on which all later learning, behavior, and health depend. We address these disparities by equipping child care providers with top-quality support and the latest child development training, while offering families of young children equitable early learning opportunities that help level the playing field and create a strong foundation for future growth and success.
