Good Neighbor Fund

We are raising $5,000 to replenish our Good Neighbor Fund, which helps tenants facing a hardship. Many of our tenants struggle to make ends meet each month – most do not have savings to deal with a surprise car repair or to pay their bills if they miss work because they get sick.

With state and federal resources dwindling, there are fewer places our tenants can turn to for help in a crisis.

We want to be prepared to assist up to 50 households in 2025. This campaign will ensure we have the resources needed to do this.

Erica, an LRCD tenant in Meredith who is a Certified Recovery Support Worker, had this to say: 

"My truck was falling apart and breaking down often. It had 275,000 miles on it, and it didn't make sense to keep pouring money into it. The Good Neighbor Fund helped me put a down payment on a safe and reliable vehicle. Having reliable transportation allows me to get back and forth to work. Part of my job is the hospital support program, where I am on call and may need to rush to the hospital at any point during the day/night to see a patient."
