Durham Bike Co-op has been refurbishing bicycles and teaching mechanical skills in Durham since 2007.

We're a 100% volunteer-run organization, and our work relies on donations from the community.

So far in 2024, we:

Restored & distributed 195 youth bikes and 393 adult bikes, many of which were given away and low or no cost
Hosted local volunteer groups like the volunteers from Cisco who assembled kids bikes for our Outreach program
Gave away 294 helmets to youth and adults
Repaired 189 bikes and counting at 10+ local events with our mobile clinic
Hosted 247 DIY shops & ticket sessions, including 37 TWIG events for people of marginalized genders
Recycled 7 tons of metal + loads of tires
Hosted countless volunteers & partnered with local nonprofits
