Let's Grow Together: Help bring science and nature to kids and teens in the hospital.

Help Wonder Connection Bring Smiles to Hospitalized Kids and Teens.

Imagine a little girl who is stuck in the hospital.  She’s really bored and a little nervous and can’t go outside.  What could make her day better?  What about an opportunity to build and erupt her own volcano?  Or a chance to look at live caterpillars?  Hospitalized kids and teens at UNC Hospitals have an opportunity to choose to do so with Wonder Connection’s experienced staff and trained volunteers.  Wonder Connection uses science and nature programming as tools to bring joy to kids and teens in the hospital and to get them excited about natural science.

This funding will support individually tailored activity sessions for hospitalized kids and teens (including: volcano building, bird watching, flower arranging, and caterpillar identification) as well as group activities for child and adolescent psychiatric patients.

Help us bring science, nature and JOY to more than 2,000 patients this year!

Our Work Matters

Our data demonstrate that patients who participate in Wonder Connection programming report feeling happy (even though they are stuck in the hospital!).  We love the opportunity to bring science, nature and JOY to hospitalized kids and teens.

Will you help us grow?

Any amount you can give helps us bring smiles to kids in the hospital!
