In June of 2024, the southwestern portion of MN received record-setting rainfall that overwhelmed that region and eventually the city of Waterville. This small, rural community nestled between two lakes was soon underwater as the water crested the lakeshores and flowed into homes. Several team members of Adventures Relief are from small Minnesota towns just like Waterville and the Lord called the Narveson family into action shortly after the rain started falling. Jen and Mitch Narveson have family connections to Waterville and wanted to render aid to anyone they could. They took experiences and learnings from their Harlem Heights response and applied it to this new community. Through intentional action, strong communication and a conviction in their spirit, the Narvenson’s came across Don and Darlene.

On June 22, 2024 Don and Darlene were evacuated from their home by kayak. This was a difficult feat but exacerbated by the fact that Don suffers from dementia. This family was denied flooding insurance because their home wasn’t in the flood zone. Now they are left with the mess of repairing a home that was flooded for days. Will you pray and see how the Lord is leading you to support Don and Darlene’s recovery journey? We have partnered with local churches to supply volunteer skilled labor but need resources to cover the cost of building materials.
