Triathlon came into my life when I was not in a great place. I was working long hours, smoking cigarettes, and partying and staying out late. I did nothing healthy for myself and my lifestyle lacked balance and vitality. When I discovered triathlon, it transformed my life. In addition to working out and the physical benefits associated with that, I began eating better, getting more sleep, taking more time outside the office. I stopped smoking. My views and goals changed. It helped me created a platform where I was able to challenge myself mentally and physically, but also create a level of balance in my life that I had been missing for so long. When I look at what the iTri program is doing - working with young women and girls who are impressionable and at such a critical age, and helping them to gain the tools and access the resources they need to dream big, take action and have the confidence that they can achieve ANYTHING they set their minds to - it is KEY. We need more programs that support the empowerment of girls. We need more leadership to guide women to be inspired, to set lofty goals and not be afraid to chase them. iTri embodies all of this.
iTri has long been a regional program, but is in the midst of planning a national expansion. It is because of fundraisers like THIS that we are able to continue to grow the program, offer an amazing curriculum to the girls that participate, and to change the lives of so many. Please help us in reaching our fundraising goals.
