Johnnie Johnson was born in Long Beach, California, but lucky for us, he along with his family relocated to Chillicothe when he was young. He graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1989 and moved around a bit but his hometown called him back home. He has owned and operated his own company, New Leaf Garage Doors, for more than 20 years. Johnnie has a passion for custom vehicles and a great appreciation for mini-trucks (especially the Chevy S-10) and has a social media following and a YouTube channel (Hardcore Garage) that he enjoys very much. He is likely most know locally for his work helping Ross County Humane Society since 2013 where he volunteers and serves as President of the board of directors. He is the son of Lucy Johnson Easterday and Gordon Johnson.
Corrie Johnson was born and raised in right here in Chillicothe. She graduated from Unioto High School in 1994 and received her degree from Ohio University-Chillicothe. She spent 18 years working with her sisters at ALL Signs before she decided to obtain a real estate license in 2013 and worked with Coldwell Banker Realty Champions. In 2021, she obtained her real estate broker license and with her partners opened Dwell Real Estate located in beautiful downtown Chillicothe. She serves currently on the board of directors for the Ross County Humane Society as the secretary and has served on the Board of the Majestic Theatre. She is the daughter of Gene and Dianna Oliver.
The Johnsons have been married for 25 years and are the proud parents of their daughter Avery "AJ" Johnson who attended Zane Trace and is currently a sophomore at Ohio University-Chillicothe. Together, they enjoy their country home that the share with their 3 dogs and their 3 cats.
The opportunity to take part in this year's Dance for Kids' Sake is an incredible honor for them both. They love this community and are excited to bring attention and needed donations to Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Central Ohio. This organization has been a long-standing and respected force in Ross County that has helped and encouraged countless young people.
Johnnie and Corrie plan to strut their stuff, bust some moves, and possibly get a bit jiggy! :D
