Hi. Let me introduce myself. I'm Stanley. On October 29, 2019 Polk County animal control contacted Safe Haven to see if they had room to take me. They said yes. I don't remember what happened to my eye. I know it was a traumatic experience. I'm so grateful to the kind woman who found me and contacted animal control. Safe Haven took me to Grantsburg Animal Hospital. Dr. Greg said my eye couldn't be saved but I was underweight and too little for surgery. He wanted to try antibiotics and eye drops to see if my eye would heal over without surgery but it did not. I had upper respiratory infection a couple of times and had to be on antibiotics to be strong enough for surgery. Finally on February 6, 2020 I was healthy enough to have my eye removed and get neutered. I'm not sure what that means but it made everyone happy that I could have those surgeries. I wasn't happy about having to live in a kennel by myself for a few days but you can see that my eye looks much better. I am now out and playing with my kitty friends, waiting for my purrfect furever home. If you can love a friendly, playful, one-eyed cat who is sweet and loving and purrs a lot, set up a time to meet me. I would love to meet you!!!
Help us with more surgeries as there is always a vet visit and surgery coming through our doors. We cannot do what we can without your support.
Your donation goes directly to the care of the animals. Our foster homes are all volunteers....no paid staff. So please, check our website - www.SafeHavenAnimalShelter.org for more information. Don't forget to follow us on FaceBook too - Safe Haven Animal Shelter Wisconsin
