United We Age - Friends for Seniors

Our mission is to inspire a movement where all generations of people are more aware and supportive of senior citizens with needs. 

To this end, United We Age will work towards: 

• Assuring social support for people facing quality of life decline due to aging, especially people living alone.  
• Assuring that age is not a barrier to seniors participating in the online (internet) world.  
• Raising awareness and image building for senior citizens.

United We Age is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Vero Beach, Florida, established to serve the senior citizen population residing in the United States.

We are a volunteer-driven organization offering social support for seniors facing challenges due to aging, and to assist them with communications technology to improve their quality of life. To this end, United We Age offers two programs: 

•  Stay In Touch Program
• Friends for Seniors Program 

Many of us are fortunate to be living our senior years blessed with health, family, friends, and financial security. But there are millions of seniors who have little social support and are financially challenged. Our programs target these seniors in need. 

Did you know there are approximately 3 million seniors living in long-term care/nursing facilities and almost half of them do not have any family/friends visit them throughout the year?

You can help by participating in our Stay in Touch© and Friends for Seniors programs. Your support with these programs will exponentially improve quality of life for seniors in their twilight years.

We are targeting senior citizens throughout Florida who are in desperate need of our support. The longer these seniors live without social support and communications technology, the more likely they are to spend the remaining years of their lives lonely and forgotten. 

Friends for Seniors

Our Friends for Seniors program offers seniors social support. The program is a giving experience to make an older person’s life more special. The program is designed to befriend an older person who lacks meaningful social support (e.g., family/friends) and sprinkle kindness throughout the year.

The program allows us to bring a personal touch to seniors by directly providing them with some outside friendly contact as well as birthday and holiday cards, gifts (e.g., clothing, toiletries, snacks) and other essentials to let them know they are not forgotten and alone.

• Our purpose is to spread cheer and kindness to seniors throughout the year
• We offer a giving experience to make a senior’s life more special
• We target nursing/long-term care facilities
• We offer seniors birthday/holiday cards, and gifts from a wish list.

Stay In Touch

Our Stay in Touch© program offers voice-activated technology devices and initial set up/installation and ongoing guidance from volunteers, featuring Amazon’s Echo Show™, to the senior population residing in the United States.

The program offers older adults a window into how technology can enrich their lives, providing them the opportunity to communicate from their place of residency and/or care facility.

• The program’s outreach includes seniors residing in senior care facilities as well as stay at home seniors.
• Seniors can place video and audio calls to family and friends.
• Seniors can open their world to the internet, playing music, displaying family photos, listening, and reading real time news, and so on.
