Uptown Main Street is the District's newest Main Street. We provide support to small businesses along Upper 14th Street NW and Kennedy Street NW, plan events for community members and advocate for our business corridor.
The Need
This year, we're working to activate a number of vacant storefronts, are providing small grants to businesses and are hosting community events. We are also promoting our corridor as a walkable and thriving place. We need your support to help sustain us.
The History
In 2017, the Community Alliance for Upper Fourteenth Street (CAUFS) and the Kennedy Street Development Corporation (KSDC) jointly applied and were awarded a Main Street grant from the District Department of Small and Local Business. As a result, the Uptown Main Street (UMS) was created to support and grow business activity along Kennedy St. NW and Upper 14th St. NW.
*Please note that all funds donated will be given directly to Uptown Main Street by our fiscal agent, the Community Alliance for Upper Fourteenth Street.
