Urban Financial Services Coalition (UFSC) is proud to announce a very special fundraising campaign, “Celebrate Black Wealth, Invest In Our Youth,” and to ask that you consider investing in our youth by making a donation to help us fund our scholarships and online financial literacy platform to teach them how to build wealth. Our campaign goal is $10,000, and with your support, we are fully convinced that we can raise that amount!

Many of you are familiar with our programs, but for those of you who are not, UFSC is a group of minority financial professionals working together to provide professional development for its members; financial literacy to the community; and scholarships to young people who are interested in pursuing a career in the financial services industry. In addition to promoting personal and professional growth within our industry, we collectively voice current concerns and marshal resources to improve under-served communities' economic development.

Our three youth programs are dedicated to developing future leaders for the financial services industry – the UFSC MARK I Leadership Program, Intercollegiate Oratorical Competition, and the Millenia Force Initiative. Outstanding participants of each program have the opportunity to receive college scholarships, internships, and mentorship. All of the programs have been highly successful and are very well-respected.

The UFSC MARK I Leadership Program is a one-year national apprentice challenge program that involves intensive classroom training, apprentice-style group competition, and the development and execution of an individual leadership development plan supported by on-going monthly leadership coaching sessions. We focus on specific areas of skill development that include personal leadership skills, financial literacy, business plan preparation, entrepreneurship, and physical fitness.

The Intercollegiate Oratorical Competition is open to college students from around the country to give them an opportunity to showcase their oratorical and presentation skills before minority financial professionals and senior-level executives. The winner will be celebrated as the Urban Financial Services Coalition Collegiate Orator of the Year.

The Millennia Force Initiative is an inspirational youth movement that drives a critical mass of urban and suburban citizens who use their knowledge, tools, strategies, and community buy-in to eliminate the wealth gap; their effectiveness is due to addressing the following disparities: Education, Employment, Income, Housing, and Wealth.

A key component to the Millennia Force will be developing a cohesive financial education platform that will empower participants and take them on the never-ending journey to financial freedom.

We are proud of the many young people who have benefited from participating in UFSC programs and scholarships. Our underlying goal is to increase the number of minorities and women in senior management positions in the financial services industry. Young people from underserved communities face several obstacles, especially African American youth.
