Me and my thousand faces at work!

I’ve just celebrated my first year as a Field Trip Reservationist at the Kentucky Science Center! I am usually behind the scenes planning school field trips, but one morning I greeted a group of elementary students walking into the Science Center Atrium. Tired faces turned to smiles as the kids let out a collective gasp of awe at what lay before them. It was an AWEsome moment for me as well, as I saw the impact a field trip can have on instilling a love for learning.

Organizing those AWE striking science experiences has been so gratifying to me and today I am supporting that mission by participating in a one-day fundraising event.

This year on September 12, I'm excited to be a part of Give for Good Louisville to raise funds for Kentucky Science Center's Annual Fund for Science.

I'm aiming to raise $500 to support Kentucky Science Center's overall goal of $20,000.

I'm feeling bubbly today!

Funds raised will support our Annual Fund for Science, providing ongoing support for education programs and initiatives including:

  • $1,000 can support Science in Play2Go in a Kentucky library. This traveling exhibit brings early childhood activities improving kindergarten readiness throughout the Commonwealth.
  • $500 can support Pulse of Surgery for a class of 25 students. This virtual program streams live heart surgeries to classrooms, offering students a unique view of medical careers and healthy living.
  • $300 can open our MakerPlace exhibit to our guests for an entire day. MakerPlace showcases the cycle of curiosity, tinkering, discovery, and problem-solving skills vital to today's workforce using high-tech tools.
  • $139 supports one family with a Community Access Membership. Kentucky Science Center provides free annual family memberships to those in SNAP or WIC programs, ensuring that all families can enjoy immersive science experiences.
  • $21 can support one student's field trip admission to our Flagship Facility. Located on Museum Row in Louisville, Kentucky Science Center offers interactive exhibits, hands-on science experiences, and demonstrations for all ages. Our educators create innovative programs that inspire scientific curiosity and learning.
  • $14 helps make it possible for one student to attend a Science Celebration. Multi-day events where students and families engage with local businesses and STEAM professionals through themed programs like Maker Days, Engineering Days, Health and Wellness Days, and Paws and Pals Days.
