Friends of the Mountain

I am a Friend of the Mount Sequoyah Center for many reasons. I enjoy walking around the peaceful grounds often. It is a beautiful nature spot right in the middle of town. John and I love the Music on the Mountain series that features local musicians performing beneath a backdrop of trees, birds, and sky. Mount Sequoyah secures grants to make these musical performances affordable for all and welcomes families in this casual setting.  As you may know, Mount Sequoyah Center is a nonprofit that brings people together regardless of income through arts and wellness experiences.  You may not know that Mount Sequoyah has 67 resident artists and 2 galleries. Last year it sponsored over $100,000 in spaces for art non-profits and hosted over 90 community events, many which were free. Over 35,000 visitors gathered here last year to see visual arts, performing arts, and so much more. I hope you will join me in supporting the very deserving Mount Sequoyah Center and their efforts to enhance our experience of community.   Missy Gocio
