Minnesota is home to writers from many backgrounds and experiences, many of whom don't have access to editors, agents, or others to help them refine their manuscripts. The Catalyst Project is designed to mentor these writers into publication with Trio House Press, providing equitable access to publishing for underrepresented authors in Minnesota.
Developmental editors to work with authors over the course of 12 months to polish their manuscript and ready it for publication. After the editing process, the manuscript will be published by Trio House Press.
Funds will go towards paying the developmental editors, providing a book advance of $1,000 to the authors, and paying for production costs of the books. Each $5,000 raised will fund one title.
The first author we have identified to benefit from the Catalyst Project is poet Joyce Lee, an accomplished spoken word poet who just finished her MFA in Creative Writing at Hamline University in St Paul, Minnesota. Please join us in supporting the publication of her first collection of poetry.
