Support Fair, Accessible, and Affordable Housing!

Housing is essential to stability of the lives of people in our community. Housing is the keystone issue in our city, influencing health outcomes, education attainment, economic stability, access to transportation, and so many more critical issues for our families and neighbors. If we do not take the housing crisis serious, we cannot solve the big issues facing Louisville.

We must continue to the momentum on land development code reform with tangible progress on Middle Housing and then focus our efforts on inclusionary zoning. MHC will continue to convene conversation and build coalition around this issue

We must continue to connect the issues of affordable housing and affordable utilities, one cannot happen with the other. MHC will continue to lead these conversations through our EveryHome program and with our joint intervenors at the Kentucky Public Service Commission.

We must continue to advocate for better policy and prevent the "one step forward, three steps back" policy shifts from the last several years--especially on source of income protections and the criminalization of homelessness (at the local and state level).
