Mission
Who Speaks for Me? is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. We are an advocacy and activist-driven prison abolition organization, working to create alternatives to incarceration for women, girls and LGBTQ people who are impacted by the justice system. Our programs center the voices of justice-impacted women, girls and LGBTQ people, to share their experiences, with the goal of creating a Trauma-Informed Justice System to interrupt and dismantle the Trauma-to-Prison Pipelineâ„¢. We work to dismantle systems of oppression that intersect with becoming justice-involved and create a healing space for those impacted by trauma before, during and/or post incarceration. We specifically focus on justice-involved BIPOC who are women, girls and LGBTQ people.
Who Speaks For Me has received a Community Organizing Grant from the Peace Development Fund and all of the money raised from this fundraiser will be added to that grant to help support their organizing in 2021. Please consider making a contribution today to support them and read more about their work below.

How is Who Speaks For Me helping their community work toward justice through the COVID-19 pandemic?
"Who Speaks for Me is helping our community work towards justice during COVID-19 by advocating for quality safe affordable housing for women and LGBTQ people who are homeless. We are also providing webinars featuring Returning Citizens sharing their stories of the collateral consequences of mass incarceration, especially during a pandemic. Who Speaks for Me is collaborating with local grassroots organizations to interrupt and dismantle systems of oppression that directly impact system -impacted women, girls and LGBTQ people, especially unequal access to healthcare, housing and employment."
