The Queer-Trans Project organizes the LGBTQ+ community together to provide resources so that they have the power and confidence to create social change. Our programs enable individuals to feel empowered and confident in themselves so that the can take on the world without feelings of dysphoria, diffidence, powerlessness, or being an imposter. Your support will help to fund our programs, including Social Groups, Sexual Health Education, and Advocacy opportunities.
Can you share a story of one of the leaders in your organization and how they’ve made a difference in their community?
“As a black trans man who knows what it's like to go through all of high school openly trans without the support of my parents, I could never turn my back on my trans siblings, especially when they experience similar situations. I used to be the one always asking for help on how to deal with an unsupportive family, dysphoria, and seeking out medical transition. I find myself on the other side of these conversations nowadays, talking to people who are scared to come out, who have come out to unsupportive families, who face discrimination in school and work environments, who need help finding resources and the craziest part, is that I used to be every single one of them 5 years ago. I’m so grateful I'm able to hand down the advice given to me and give hope to those going through it because I am an example that there's a light at the end of the tunnel and happiness at the end of the journey.” - Queer Trans Project Board Member, Nathaniel Rojas.
