People of the Confluence
Mission
Honoring the traditions and knowledge of our Ancestors, People of the Confluence acts to revitalize Indigenous communities, culture, people and the Land. We empower indigenous youth to become caretakers of the water, air, earth, spirits and relationships by providing educational resources and quality evidence-based programs that embrace the teachings, traditions and values of our Ancestors and center our elders.
People of the Confluence has received a Community Organizing Grant from the Peace Development Fund and all of the money raised from this fundraiser will be added to that grant to help support their organizing in 2022. Give today to support People of the Confluence!

"Your contribution helps in supporting vulnerable Indigenous youth (Oglala Lakota and Coast Salish) with traditional teachings and the life skills to build a strong and resilient community. Our intentions are to work on healing relatives through culture by teaching traditional ecological knowledge and as keepers of the earth through restoration, STEM skills, the legal tools to affect change for generations to come. We work to honor Mother Earth by instilling traditional values through respect, wisdom generosity and courage while we protect our water, air, earth, and spirit. We work to encourage our youth to plan actions that can empower them and their communities. We hold events where we give away plants and trees to restore healthy riparian zones, remediate contaminated soil and build community relations beyond our indigenous youth around a healthy environment for all."
Can you share a story of one of the leaders in your organization and how they’ve made a difference in their community?
"Pamela 'Chelalakem' Bond is a resilient and powerful Indigenous woman who works in the fields of ecology, traditional medicines, women's health/empowerment (MMIW), Indigenous sovereignty and activism. She has worked and consulted with numerous tribes in the Salish Sea and beyond, as well as municipal governments, community, and cultural organizations, and more. She is a notable storyteller, knowledge-keeper and teacher who works with students from numerous schools and programs including many indigenous programs, and special education programs, and for nearly 13 years giving cultural and historical tours/classes at the Duwamish Longhouse and Cultural Center. She is a Council Woman and the Fish Wildlife and Environmental Director for the Snohomish Tribe of Indians and has helped sustain her tribe's culture and inherent rights."
