Mission

We are a group of sex workers who share a vision of our labor liberated from racism, patriarchy, ableism, and other oppressive structures. From strippers to full-service sex workers; dominatrices to webcam models; we now join hands, click heels, and dance together as a unified front to alleviate the centuries of exploitation against Black, Brown, Indigenous, and/or Trans sex workers.

Haymarket Pole Collective has received a Community Organizing Grant from the Peace Development Fund and all of the money raised from this fundraiser will be added to that grant to help support their organizing in 2020.  Please consider making a contribution today to support them and read more about their work below.

Request

We request $7,500 towards operational funding that will allow us to retain our office space and cover software costs in 2021, and to fund a programs consultant for the first month of 2021.

The remaining $1,500 will pay a program coordinator from among our current volunteers to develop and launch a programming strategy for 2021. This fund will allow us to better provide direct aid such as support groups and professional workshops, and develop fundraising strategies. Our previous work offers a hint of what we can do with increased support: in 2020, we hosted multiple rallies, marches, and listening sessions.

We can’t wait to continue this work in 2021 with the benefit of secure office space and coordinated programming.

How is Haymarket Pole Collective helping their community work toward justice through the COVID-19 pandemic?

"Haymarket Pole Collective (HMPC) is a grassroots organization focused on advocating for safe and equitable working conditions for Black, Indegenous and transgender sex workers and sex workers of color. During the pandemic, we have executed three grants supported by the Oregon Health Authority to alleviate the impact of COVID-19 on communities disproportionately impacted by the pandemic. In 2020 distributed over $490,000 in direct aid in the form of gift cards, rental relief, material supplies, grocery support, at-home COVID tests, STI tests, menstrual supplies, and much more. These reparative efforts allow sex workers of color in Oregon to survive the pandemic and continue to fight for representation at their clubs and in their communities."
