Donate to the MHC! Affordable Housing Now!

Hi, everyone! 

Many of you know I started a new position at the beginning of this year at the Metropolitan Housing Coalition as their Housing & Energy Affordability Program Coordinator. For those who don't know, the MHC is a Louisville-based nonprofit organization dedicated to advocating for fair, accessible, and affordable housing for all. We work to promote equitable housing policies, support inclusive development, and ensure every resident has a safe, stable place to call home. 

In the past 7 months, we have built out and launched a new program that I manage called "EveryHome". This program connects  energy affordability to housing affordability through community engagement and education, as well as policy and legislative review at the local and state level. Essentially, you cannot have affordable housing without an affordable utility bill.  I could talk statistics all day - but one rule of thumb is to never pay more than 6% of your income on utilities alone. 

Now to the ask - Give For Good is today and I am taking donations to continue MHC's important work (for those not in Louisville, Give For Good is the biggest fundraiser of the year for non-profits in Louisville - think Berea Gives Day!). I have a personal goal of $250. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps us continue important programming and research towards ensuring that everyone has access to attainable, affordable housing.
