I cannot wait for October 14 (more info on the event and the nonprofit partner is below)! I'll be in costume, four of my friends will be in my entourage, and together we'll be raising funds to support two amazing new initiatives at the LGBTQ Center of Durham. Let me introduce myself...
SISTER RESISTOR BELLWEATHER
Sister Resistor doubles as the Bell's Brewery apostle of craft beer and a one woman crusader of resistance. Sister Resistor spends much of her time traveling to our coastal state, spreading the word of Bell's and infusing her followers with hops and the spirit of justice and social action. Behold the power of Sister Resistor's words and the might of her arms.
On Saturday, October 14, 2017 the League of Upper Extremity Wrestling Women of Durham (LUEWWD; pronounced "lewd") will host LUEWWD XV: simply irRESISTible, a ladies’ arm-wrestling fundraiser.
The LGBTQ Center of Durham is LUEWWD’s community partner for this event. Proceeds will go toward their two new initiatives: including speed-friending for a diverse group of LGBTQ+ femmes, and expanding support groups to support queer couples; and to improve the supply of offerings for femme identified participants of the Trans & GNC Closet. LUEWWD funds will help the Center continue to uplift and support women and girls with the intersecting identity of wherever they are in the LGBTQIA spectrum.
