Philadelphia’s Chinatown is under threat from a basketball arena, proposed to be six inches away from a historic Chinatown building. This arena, called 76Place, threatens our dynamic community and the sense of safety for AAPIs in the greater Philadelphia area. But we have come together to defend Chinatown against exploitation and displacement.

The No Arena in Chinatown movement is a hub of organizing against predatory development, led by residents, workers, and youth who are deeply rooted in Asian American and allied communities. History has been rewritten again and again to silence Chinatown's voices and marginalize our people. Philadelphia’s Chinatown has fought off a baseball stadium, casinos, and a prison, but lost much land and many residents to the expressway that cut Chinatown in half and the convention center that emptied out businesses.

Our movement is grounded in uplifting the most vulnerable populations and building solidarity among all communities facing displacement. Our coalition is multiracial, multigenerational, and multilingual, but we face formidable opposition from billionaire developers who are trying to divide communities of color against each other. Your donation will strengthen this grassroots movement and help protect at 150-year-old Asian immigrant community in the heart of Philadelphia!
