#GivingTuesday2024 - South Asian Community Home!

At India Home, we believe that our elders deserve to have access to a special space and resources where they can be happy and thrive, while also receiving the culturally tailored support they need.

With this vision in mind, we're excited to transform our main office headquarters into the new South Asian Community Home (SACH)  center in Jamaica Estates, Queens. 

The SACH center will be a central hub where we operate several of our major programs, such as Congregate Meals, Health Promotion & Wellness sessions, Case Management services, and Creative Aging, 3D Desi Dementia Daycare, Community Education programming, and. more!  Every day, over 100 Indian, Bangladeshi, Pakistani, Indo-Caribbean, and other South Asian immigrant older adults and other community members come visit this center, helping them to receive the much needed care, companionship, creativity, and culturally competent community & support networks they need to improve their quality of life. 

This state-of-the-art facility will centralize and expand the organization's life-affirming programs for South Asian elders, but we need YOUR help to reach the final stretch and make this possible! 

Our Gala for SACH brought together community leaders, supporters, and beneficiaries to celebrate India Home's commitment to empowering South Asian and Indo-Caribbean elders. Together, in an afternoon full of fun and festivities, we fundraised nearly $250,000 for the renovation of India Home's space.  

This #GivingTuesday, we hope you will help India Home to reach our final $20,000 funding needed to renovate our community center so that we can welcome our seniors into a better and brighter space that is enhanced with the equipment, rooms, and supplies needed to better serve South Asian & Indo-Caribbean seniors.

• $500 - Sponsors one square foot at SACH center, a new and vibrant headquarters with a library, computer lab, kitchen, space for enrichment activities,  and more!
• $1000 - Support culturally competent dementia respite care and caregiver services for seniors with low-moderate dementia
• $2,500 - Support tech education through intergenerational workshops, classes, and one-on-one assistance as a step towards self-reliance and community connections
• $5,000 - Support yoga classes and exercise workshops as a step to a healthier body for seniors
