eLiberare has been building a social movement against human trafficking and sexual exploitation since 2013.
We have informed over 1 million people on the issue, distributed educational resources to 750.000 Romanian and Moldovan students, trained over 1.500 professionals on identification and notification of cases and have been assisting in external assistance partner shelters since 2015.
2020 - The Year of ‘Despite of…’
2020 was a rough year for all of us. From the collective trauma of CoVid, to the loss of plans, dreams and even loved ones. However, despite of all that, 2020 was also the year when:
Our project was selected to be one of the ten initiatives supported by the Resilience Fellowship, out of 360 applications.
We launched www.rezilienta.eu/EN - because being trauma-informed and having a self care plan went mainstream.
We started our first survivor-lead resource: Aripi Magazine, alongside the girls we’ve been serving for over 5 years.
We gathered 26 governmental, civil society, private, intergovernmental, diplomatic and syndical partners in a labour exploitation prevention campaign, munca.info.
We were appointed in the Delta 8.7 Justice policy group to be a part of the team that writes the new UN Global Policy Guides on human trafficking.
Ioana was selected as an Ashoka Fellow and our model of intervention was selected as a global best practice model.
We launched a platform gathering 18 of the most active specialized NGOs that work in the field and made strides in advocacy and public policy.
Our team welcomed a new coordinator for the educational program and with that reached a total of 7 staff in two locations.
2021 - The Year of ‘The Best is Yet to Come’
As we look to 2021, we know what our priorities will look like. CoVid19 didn’t stop traffickers, it actually accentuated organized crime and made exploitation take different shapes and sizes. Because of that, we are also adapting:
We will be creating a new resource addressing OSEC (online sexual exploitation of children) and will make it a part of the packet we distribute in schools.
We will scale our police training on identification and will follow up with advocacy efforts to introduce proactive identification in the Romanian law.
We will launch a new national campaign with videos running in airports, on social media, and on public television.
We will launch the second number of Aripi magazine, in our efforts to make survivors' voices heard and respected.
For that, we need your help. Please consider partnering with us by donating towards our 2021 activities mentioned above. Human trafficking is a problem too big to think we can stop it on our own, but we are fortunate enough to have amazing partners like you to help us reach our goals.
