Athena Is Lonely and Sad After Being Surrendered

Athena is an adorable one year old doodle who once had a family she loved calling her own. This sweet girl was living her best life when her family decided they were unable to afford her. Sadly, Athena was surrendered to a rural VA shelter. She went from the love and comfort of a home, to a hard plastic bed in a cold cement dog run.  Athena's whole life has been turned upside-down. As cute as she is, no one has shown interest in adopting Athena. She needs a break, and Homeward Trails is waiting with open arms to bring Athena to the DC area.
