Until now, children in foster care in Madison County have had to navigate their way through the system without CASA Volunteers. This fundraiser will enable Piedmont CASA to recruit, screen, train, and supervise approximately 25 men and women in Madison to take on that role - to become dedicated advocates for Madison County children in foster care.
Research shows that kids who have CASA Volunteers spend less time in foster care, receive more medical and therapeutic support, experience fewer out-of-home placements, and have improved educational performance. So it is not surprising that research also shows kids with CASAs are more hopeful. And when kids have hope, outcomes improve. They have more academic success, enhanced well-being, increased self-control, positive social relationships, and optimism – tools they need to recover.
When we build strong children, we build a strong community.
