Play It Cool

Our community stepped up in August to raise enough money to build a brand-new play yard, Hugo’s Yard, for our vulnerable pooches to play, to decompress from stress and exercise in a safe and secure environment.  

Now, DAS is launching a new campaign to pay for shade structures so our homeless hounds can play and stay cool at the same time. 

The $30,000 goal will help DAS build pergolas on three of our four play yards. 

Play yards have an added benefit of making dogs more adoptable since it socializes them with other dogs and humans. Interacting with adoptable dogs in play yards also allows shelter staff to gain information about a dog’s behavior to best match them to potential homes.
