Bring "PASSAGE: A Juneteenth Journey" to life

To commemorate the Juneteenth National Holiday, Pointillism Jazz Consort is holding a free immersive dance performance.
When: June 17, 2023 at 2PM
Where: Beatley Library – Reading Garden in Alexandria, VA.

Multiple sections of the piece unfold the expression of African-American/Native American & immigrant peoples striving for freedom in America. 

PASSAGE’s vocabulary includes the many forms of expression which have evolved in the U.S.: jazz, rhythm tap, hip hop, indigenous African movement, contemporary ballet, spoken word movement, & improvisation. 

Our Company’s hallmark component of Audience Participation in the performance will crown the performance. Audience members who have attended workshops in various locations of Alexandria are encouraged to use the dance, music, African traditions, Alexandria history, & visual art creations they learned about & built in the workshops leading up to the performance. 

This performance is our Infinite Legacy Project mission for 2023, as a part of Pointillism’s above-the-ceiling® creative learning series.
