HELP US PREPARE FOR WINTER

Winters present significant challenges for us, and we are preparing for the upcoming season, anticipating heavy snowfall. Past winters were particularly disastrous, as we suffered severe flooding that caused extensive damage to our hay, barn, and fences. The snowbanks were also incredibly high, hindering our ability to move in and out of the property. With deep snow and wind gusts ranging from 20 to 50 mph, our horses remained confined to the barn, forcing us to trample down the snow in front just to get around. Accessing water became a significant issue, as our hose would freeze, and the heavy snow made movement difficult. 

Your donations can play a significant role in helping us prepare for the upcoming winter season and ensure that the horses and caretakers of Wild Heart Sanctuary remain safe and have access to water, hay, and shelter. Last year, we had to bear numerous unforeseen expenses and install piping and new water troughs to facilitate water flow to the barn. We are also hiring the services of excavators and plows to address flooding issues, repair fencing, snow-proof around the barn, redirect pipes for snow away from the barn, and add pallets under the hay to prevent water damage.
