MOT's 2020-21 Season!

Thank you so much for supporting our 2020-21 Season! Even in the midst of a global pandemic, we are committed to meeting the professional development expectations set forth by the artists with whom we work. 

In October, we completed the first project on our season, ENCHANTED PARK(ING LOT), an outdoor event with one of our favorite collaborative partners, Danceworks MKE.  Later that month, we debuted our new video opera, "Orsa ibernata", as part of the multi-company DECAMERON OPERA COALITION.   

In winter, we commissioned two short music-theater pieces from local cello/violin duo SistaStrings and regional composer Matt Zembrowski.  Inspired by the idea of distance, these pieces were composed, rehearsed, and performed remotely in Virtual Soirees in January and February of 2021.

We closed our season with a reading of our newly-commissioned English translation of Monterverdi's L'ORFEO in collaboration with our dear friends at Aperi Animam.

Throughout the year we hosted monthly Virtual Voice Labs and developed original operas with the 6th grade classes at Milwaukee Parkside School for the Arts.
