Support a Sister

A valid address is critical for a woman released from prison or jail so she can obtain a photo ID needed to apply for employment, permanent housing, a driver's license, or other benefits for which she may be eligible. 

My Sister's House in New Bern provides post-incarcerated women this important address in a safe and non-judgmental home environment, with a program of services and resources, to assist each guest achieve a successful and sustainable reentry to her community. 

Some women may receive a per diem allowance from an outside agency, although this may be limited by amount or time. Some women may have no such financial assistance but can still be accepted to our program. Once regularly employed, women are asked to contribute approximately 30% of their income toward room and board, although employment may take a while to accomplish.  

We have estimated a daily rate of $50 per guest to cover basic operating expenses for My Sister's House, not counting salary costs for the 24/7 coverage of our trained and caring staff.
