AACHI is one of the only organizations in Central Texas to provide free culturally & language-specific support services to marginalized Asian communities.
Each year, AACHI:
serves 380+ clients & their families
translates & distributes pertinent health information through over 270,000 touch points in responds to winter storms, infectious diseases, & other critical circumstances
helps to provide transportation to 100+ individuals
facilitates the completion of hundreds of applications for health insurance, resulting in over 95% of our clients gaining or maintaining health coverage
organizes 20+ community engagement & education events
advocates for health equity & underserved Asian Americans whenever possible
Who does AACHI serve?
Immigrant groups who earn 200% below the federal poverty level.
First-generation Asian Americans who have Limited English Proficiency (LEP) & are more likely to be uninsured compared to their English speaking counterparts.
How has AACHI helped diverse Asian ethnic groups in Austin get better healthcare?
Since 2016, AACHI has collaborated with the local community to create events & programming that serves vulnerable populations.
We employ certified Community Health Workers (CHWs) to help clients access & navigate vital healthcare services.
As trusted neighbors & frontline health workers, our CHWs have provided language-specific services in Arabic, Burmese, Chin Tedim, English, Mandarin Chinese, Korean, Nepali, Hindi, & Vietnamese.
