Our program focuses on providing local youth 

 the tools they need to take on the world.

Dear Friends and Colleagues:

I am proud to serve on the Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Club of the Coastside. The Boys and Girls Club is a National Organization with over 4000 clubs Nationwide. Our local organization, Boys & Girls Club of the Coastside, provides unique programs for our small coastal community. We provide safe and engaging after-school activities for over 1,100 youth aged 5 to 18.  These include homework support, enrichment activities, mentoring, and a new staff member focused on social-emotional and mental health. We can only do this important work with support from generous donors.

BGCC programs and services are critical to kids growing into productive, healthy, and happy adults. The BGCC offers these important programs:

• Academic support: Kids are encouraged to complete their homework and have access to tutors and mentors who help them complete their assignments. This gives them the feeling of accomplishment, pride, and confidence. 
• Cunha After School Athletics: We fund and run all Cunha sports -- 20 teams for 350 youth in 8 sports (basketball, cross country, flag football, soccer, tennis, track & field, wrestling, and volleyball). We sponsor Coastside Basketball and the Half Moon Bay Soccer Clubs. We partner with Half Moon Bay Golf Links to offer golf instruction for girls and boys.
• Social and emotional support: Kids at the BGCC are surrounded with friends, mentors and supportive staff who care about them individually. If someone is having a difficult day, it doesn’t go unnoticed. There are quiet places for kids to relax and talk with one of the caring staff or a counselor. Being a pre-teen and teen can be challenging. The BGCC is equipped to provide social and emotional support.
• College Prep: BGCC supports teens to think about the future, develop plans to work toward college, volunteer in the community, and build important life skills.

When visiting the Club, I love to see the kids exercising their bodies and minds, and developing strong bonds with their peers and caring staff.

Great Futures Start Here. 

Our programs rely on the support of individual donors, grants and community sponsors. We need donations to support our programs to further our goal of helping kids build great futures.
