The Madison 48 Hour Film Project is a crazy, sleepless weekend where no one gets paid, but everyone gets a shot at screening their film at Cannes!
It's a grass-roots/international filmmaking competition where participants make a complete short film in just 48 hours. The results get an open-to-the-public World Premiere on the big screen and one local film will go on to represent the community in international competition. The films are judged by industry professionals and the Oscars-style awards include special student-only categories.
But it's much more than that. The Madison 48 is a unique opportunity for filmmakers of all ages and experience levels from Hollywood award-winning veterans to absolute first-timers. It's a hands-on adventure where they make a complete short film from story idea through writing, casting, filming, and editing, complete and completely legal, ready to show on the silver screen.
Scholarship opportunities make it possible for students to try their hand at an art form that can lead to a career.
Your contribution helps keep this one-of-a-kind opportunity available to local would-be writers, actors, directors, and more. From hobbyists to Hollywood's Next, the Madison 48 is the gateway to local filmmaking and filmmakers.
