Nailed it in less than 3 weeks!
😊 Wow! In less than 3 weeks, all her international travel costs are covered!! Thank you to each one who gave, many of you sacrificially, for Sweet "O". God knows all the significance of your gift, and what He will do with it. When I finish her "Who helped get me here?" project (we are considering a soccer ball or a good piece of luggage), your name will be on it.
Where do we go from here:
You can be praying now for the many Project 143 volunteers who are preparing all the orphans' paperwork in both countries/continents and the approximately 150 Host families across the US busily preparing their homes, booking flights/making travel plans, and gathering supplies for this incredible experience.
Bringing Hope to Older Orphans from Eastern Europe!
Project 143 finds host families for orphans in Eastern Europe who are less likely to be adopted due to their age or other factors, for a safe 4 to 8 week vacation in the summer or the winter. We've selected a vivacious gal to visit us Summer 2017. For 5 weeks, we will share our home, family life, time, and resources with this child, and help her build some special family memories to help her know that she matters too. Your support makes it possible for us to love on her in person! 😊
We studied European geography this past school year, and as a family, we've been looking for a way to make a difference. Hosting a child through Project 143 allows us to bring world issues down to a personal level. Already, we are much more aware of what's happening in her "little corner of the world", concerned for her safety and praying for her daily. We are gathering an entire community to "speak life and blessing" over her!
Our family can't save all the children, but we can change things for one!
Instead of going on a Summer Missions Trip, we are bringing the Mission to us, right into our own home: It's a "rubber meets the road" ministry opportunity. Very likely, none of us will ever look at life the same. And we will be forever better for it!
We have a big family and many big hearts; a great capacity to love! Already our children are thinking ahead; daily bringing up how they should behave ("I have to stop arguing with ....."), making gifts, making plans to share their space, each looking for their contribution. You might pray that our Host Child is not blown away by all the love and attention she will receive here! 😍
Recently, it was said of Sweet "O": "She has a totally infectious smile and personality. She’s just so interested and curious about everything. In a group of great kids, she lit up the room. Her interests are playing soccer (Rob is a soccer coach) and swimming . She REALLY loves to swim (we live near three free swimming areas). When asked what she would do if she had a million dollars, she didn’t even hesitate in saying that she would donate it to help orphan kids."
By investing in this one child, we invest in the solution to an international problem. Our family can equip Sweet "O" to return to her home of origin and pay it all back to others who are hurting.
Hosting for 5 weeks costs $2,950. This covers her international travel expenses.
Autumn, our oldest daughter, was the first to step forward with a gift of $250 from her Giving Fund! 😍
That leaves us with $2700 to go!
Urgent Need: Because we signed up so late in the season, we need a payment of $1850 ASAP so that her travel arrangements can be finalized in time for departure!
We can’t do it alone, and besides, we invite you to the blessing of giving. 😄
Project One Forty Three, Inc., is a 501(c)3 organization. (EIN: 27-1345034)
All donations through this Razoo page go directly to Project 143, Inc. and so are tax- deductible.
Note: Our family has additional expenses not covered in the Host Family fees. For example, it will be our privilege to meet our Host daughter at an international airport in the States to celebrate her arrival and bring her home! (That may be quite a distance from the little town we live in....). We also pay our own travel expenses to accompany Sweet "O" back to her group for the return flight to her home country at the end of the 5 weeks. And in addition to filling her tummy with lots of healthy food, and sending her back with sturdy and comfortable clothes, we hope to get in a couple Camas Center swim trips, and a visit to our local theme park and/or CatTales (big cat animal rescue shelter).
If you see we have met or exceeded our goal, and have a heart to contribute towards our personal expenses as we minister to this young lady, please contact us directly using the email link provided below (in the "Organized By" Section).
Thanks for being "the wind in our sails" as we invest in one more valuable soul!
