The Laveen Community Action Committee has engaged faith-based partners, elected officials, nonprofits and educational partners in order to support students and families with food insecurity, community safety concerns, the technology divide, health insecurity and youth employment/educational opportunities.  We believe in ensuring the future success of every student through the use of best practices and innovative strategies.   

How YOU Can Make An Impact!

This summer and fall, we invite you to help Laveen staff, students, and community leaders plan projects at 9 schools to directly impact student belonging and achievement.  We are on a mission to raise $1,000 for every school – choosing projects that will make the greatest impact. We need YOUR HELP. Every dollar counts! The Laveen School District is interested in developing Signature Programs for each of our schools to implement programs such as Kids At Hope, Performing Arts Academy, Dual Language Program (Spanish) and International Baccalaureate. We seek partners who can supplement our strong academic programs with real-world/career-oriented exploration.  Our Laveen Family plans to challenge and support our students all the way to success!

Using the School Connect CAFE Model we can fund school projects that make a direct impact on the lives of kids. 

1. Each school determines what key goals or needs will create the biggest impact on their students, families, and teachers. 

2. Then each school invites their community to plan, share resources, and galvanize volunteer support. 

3. Finally the village, or community team, successfully plans school projects to meet these strategic goals! 

Together we begin to change key metrics, like teacher retention, student attendance and participation, parent engagement, student belonging and positive behavior and ultimately academic achievement!

School Connect began its mission to connect the 2,485 K-12 schools in Arizona to their communities so that every child has a village to help them reach their potential 7 years ago with the help of community! We started by serving 6 schools and are now serving in 700 all over Arizona!  We are building momentum and are steadfast in reaching our goal of 800 schools by next Summer.  Why? Arizona is uniquely positioned under the perfect conditions to completely change the trajectory of POSSIBLE for every child through strategically leveraging the assets already embedded in our communities.  

Public, private, faith-based, and nonprofit organizations operate in an ecosystem where schools are at the epicenter representing what our future will be.  Let's make it shine!
