KEEP BALI'S ONLY ER TEAM SAVING DESPERATE ANIMALS

Every day, BAWA's Emergency Response Team is called to dangerous situations to rescue animals in crisis.  Our ER Team has decades of experience and is the only one on the island equipped and trained to handle obscure and perilous rescues across Bali. Over the years, our heroes have pulled animals in distress out of unimaginable and dangerous situations - from deep ravines and river gorges, underground gutters and drainpipes, and deep wells, to treetops, rooftops, and even the inside of building walls. It is only through your donations that we can keep our Rescue Teams saving lives every day.

Just the other day, we received a call about a puppy who had fallen and was trapped in a steep ravine for several days. BAWA's ER Team rushed to the scene, where they realized they needed safety lines to rappel down into the perilous ravine. Heart pounding, our team member made the treacherous descent. The poor puppy was found all alone, shivering and trembling in the damp, dark, water-soaked ravine. Just imagine how terrified the puppy must have been! After some gentle coaxing, our team member swaddled the puppy in a blanket, comforting the puppy with a beaming smile and words of kindness and encouragement. He then carried the puppy to safety, wading through the slippery, rocky, waist-high muddy water, with even more water cascading down the cavernous ravine walls after weeks of torrential rains. 

After placing the puppy in a safety backpack, our team member courageously ascended the steep, slippery ravine wall with his precious "puppy" cargo in tow. The adorable, cream-coloured three-month-old puppy with teddy bear ears is now being treated in our clinic. She has been given the name Dora, which means "gift" - how fitting since she was given the gift of life through BAWA's heroic efforts! Though seemingly healthy after spending days in muddy waters, we are running full blood tests on Dora, as well as vaccinating for rabies, parvo, and distemper.
