Sarah & Hendrix Myers

From humble southern Ohio beginnings, Sarah Myers turned her artistic talents into a business tour de force in Chillicothe. 

A self-taught cake artist, Sarah quit her day job 12 years ago, started High Five Cakes, and quickly became known for her homemade buttercream and artistic work with incredible, edible masterpieces. Now, High Five Cakes Bakery and Tea House - opened with business partner, Shauna Shanks, in 2019 - is a downtown Chillicothe standout.

Teaming up with others suits her. She’s worked together with colleagues and won Food Network challenges multiple times and recently teamed up with Shauna to compete on Disney+’s “Foodtastic,” an artistic food challenge hosted by Keke Palmer, where their Wreck It Ralph cake wowed judges. The duo were crowned the champions of the competition after 11 episodes. 

Now, she joins forces with her son, Hendrix, to rock the dance floor for Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Central Ohio. Hendrix is a junior at Chillicothe High School and is familiar with the stage from his work as a thespian in middle and high school plays and musicals. He’s also a member of the cross country and swim teams at CHS.

When not at school, Hendrix can be found riding his “one wheel” to and from his jobs at the city pool or Carl’s Townhouse. When Sarah isn’t slinging cake, she can be found relaxing with her husband, Philip, her daughter Shelby, son-in-law Zack, and two grandchildren, Hudson and Hazel, in their backyard oasis. 

This duo cares deeply for the community and is excited to raise funds for such a worthy cause. They want to thank everyone for their support of BBBS and the amazing mentorship it provides for our area. One thing is certain: When this mother-son combo hits the dance floor on Oct. 15, it’s going to be fun for everyone!
