For the past 12 years, Afya has made a significant impact with thanks to you and the scores of volunteers in our community. As you know, Afya volunteers are crucial to our mission. They truly save lives. 

We are more than just a volunteer opportunity. We strive to provide a safe and caring environment that is conducive to learning and skills-building. It is a formidable opportunity for our special needs volunteers to learn social and job readiness skills that are transferable to their home lives and work environments. Our volunteers come from all walks of life, regardless of background, skills and ability. While at Afya, many of our volunteers work with graduate student occupational therapists (OT) who come from a vast network of colleges to learn and grow along with many of our special needs volunteers. Each of the OT interns are as inspired as the volunteers with whom they work daily and weekly. The Afya staff, the OT interns along with your volunteers mutually benefit from the ongoing relationship between us all.

None of this would be possible without your continued support. Together, we have helped over 83 countries and territories all over the world, providing life-saving medical supplies to underserved communities. Over 3 million pounds of surplus donated supplies, sorted by your volunteers, have also been shipped abroad to aid in disaster relief and recovery efforts.
