Support Marissa to attend Deaflympics in Brazil!

Howdy! My name is Marissa Giuntoli and I am 17 years old. I am from Austin, TX and I am currently a student at Texas School for the Deaf. I was born deaf and American sign language is my first language. When I was 7 years old, I discovered my passion for swimming when I joined my swimming team at my school. I grew up swimming with my team at my school with my wonderful team with deaf coaches which allowed me to communicate effectively.

I joined the Circle C swimming club in 2020. My swimming club team is different from what I am used to. Communication is one of the challenges I faced while swimming for the swim club. Regardless of my deafness, I did not give up and tried to find other ways to communicate with my team. In 2019, I was qualified for the state in  I was qualified to state for In 2020, I was qualified to state for 50-yard freestyle and 500 freestyle. I am currently training for the upcoming state meet and Deaflympics!

I am very honored to be part of the deaf USA swimming team at the Deaflympics. I always wanted to go to Deaflympics when I was a little girl. I am very excited to go to the Deaflympics! I am looking forward to meeting my new team and swimming with them! The Deaf community and Team USA are something I am very honored to be able to represent. I will train hard and contribute 110% to my team for the Deaflympics!

The Trip to brazil for Deaflympics on May 1st, 2022 costs $5,800.00. On November 15th, $2,000.00 is due. On January 15th, $2,500.00 is due. I need your help on fundraising for my trip. I appreciate any donations and it will help a lot! Thank you!
