KING Hoops Scholarships

KING Hoops embodies what it is to be New York City. Players come together from neighborhoods all over the city. Our teams have bridged social, economic, and racial gaps without even knowing they were doing so. To our players, they are just doing what they love: playing basketball as a team. Through playing on our teams our kids have improved the way they communicate with not only each other but to coaches, officials and the broader community. 

As an organization, we have been able to use playing basketball as a tool to encourage the growth and development. It is so easy to get caught up in the X’s and O’s and focus only on the win column. It is no secret that basketball is a game driven by statistics. However, we also like to keep track of another other kind of statistics. How many of our players shake the hands of their opposition? How many positive comments were made to a teammate during practice? How many of our players are passing their classes at school? We have come to understand that success on the basketball court is driven from success in other areas of life.

In order to continue to provide the highest quality of basketball and development programs to all kids, your generous donations will go directly to our scholarship program. Currently,  over 80% of our players receive some sort of financial assistance and we are dedicated to continuing the opportunity to play.
