Julia is a 5 month old kitten that needs a cardiac workup with a cardiologist.

$50

raised by 2 people

Julia saw the cardiologist last week and her test results show she has a congenital ventricular septal defect. This means the tissue between her left and right ventricals did not fully form. The good news is that she can still be spayed and adopted, but the report helps our veterinarians decide what precautions to take during anesthesia. For now, she gets to enjoy life in the kitten room until her special person or family finds her.

Update posted 2 years ago

Sweet little Julia went to the vet with her littermates for a routine spay. Upon examination it was found that Julia has a Grade III heart murmur and is currently not safe for anesthesia. All of Julia's siblings have been fixed and are ready for adoption, but Julia first needs to grow more and see a cardiologist to determine the severity of her heart murmur. They will then determine if medication is needed and when she is safe to undergo surgery. She will be going to VCSG (Veterinary Care and Specialty Group) on September 22nd to seethe cardiologist. Until then, we will give her love and attention in a foster home. A full cardiac workup costs us ~$900.

Julia, Gia, Nadia, and Garcia were born to a sweet momma cat, Petra, who we still have available for adoption. Petra was found very pregnant and was fortunatley taken in by some good Samaritan's who fostered her and her kittens until they were weaned. They were born in early April. We would love for them to get adopted in pairs and would be willing to do a "foster to adopt" until Julia can safely be spayed. Stay tuned for detailson this sweet girl...
