The Effingham County Victim Witness Assistance Program is a 501(c) non-profit agency serving the Rincon, Guyton, Springfield and surrounding communities.  We are the only local agency providing advocacy and assistance to victims and witnesses of violent crimes.  Our mission is to empower our clients to live healthy and functional lifestyles, free from violence.

We are advocates for clients in the Superior Court of Effingham County and assist our clients in obtaining Temporary Protective Orders, when necessary.  A TPO can provide a level of safety and security for clients and their families, as they seek to establish a more peaceful and productive way of life.

Through invaluable community partnerships, we are able to provide some counseling services for our clients who may need the support as they embark on their paths.  Counseling can give clients the confidence and understanding necessary to move forward and enjoy success in their changing circumstances.

We are proud to be an active member of resources and community networks that offer a host of wraparound services and can be an integral part of the safety and security of every man, woman, and child in Effingham County.  These networks enable us to provide referrals and information to clients and their families, to assist them with any needs that may arrive as they work toward their new futures.

Additionally, EVWAP provides outreach and education services at a variety of community events.  We are able to talk to various populations about domestic violence, stalking, and dating violence.  Awareness and knowledge of community resources is key and we hope to keep spreading the word in Effingham County!

We are able to do these things, and more, only through grants and donations from the community we serve.
