So, why does this matter to me? 

All Georgians deserve housing that does not harm their health, and ideally, promotes their health.

• Georgians for a Healthy Future is partnering with Georgians with developmental disabilities to grow affordable, healthy housing options for all Georgians.
• With your generous support, we can continue working towards a future in which all Georgians have healthy housing! This year we aim to:
  1. Build support among state leaders to fully fund the Georgia Housing Voucher Program! This program ensures that Georgians with mental illness have stable, affordable housing that helps keep them healthy and out of crisis.
  2. Set up a working group that brings together people with disabilities, caregivers, housing experts and advocates, and Georgia’s state agencies overseeing health and housing to examine and promote ways to improve and expand housing for people with disabilities.
  3. Bring together housing and health advocates to identify opportunities for collaborations that will improve health and housing at the same time! We’re more powerful together!

Probably most important to me, however, is the fact that FFHF is the leading edge in the ongoing fight to expand Medicaid in Georgia, where 321,000 children lost their coverage in the last year due to Governor Kemp’s refusal to say yes.

A little more about GHF and why else you should consider contributing. GHF is an essential bridge between state leaders and the individuals and communities directly affected by Georgia’s laws and our leaders’ policy decisions. They're in the Georgia Capitol talking with state legislators and advocating for fairer policies and systems; they're in communities uplifting real-life stories of people's health care needs and experiences; they're collaborating with other organizations to gather and share essential data about the realities of Georgia's health care landscape; and they're at their desks creating materials to keep Georgia health care consumers informed.
