Amenity Aid, a Rhode Island based nonprofit working to create access to hygiene essentials, has been asked to distribute 200 hygiene kits to veterans attending Stand Down Weekend.

Happening on September 18 and 19, Stand Down Weekend is hosted by Amenity Aid's nonprofit partner Operation Stand Down Rhode Island.  Amenity Aid volunteers will be on site handing out critical hygiene products to veterans. Each hygiene kit will include seven full size products including:

  • 3-in-1 (shampoo, conditioner, body wash)
  • Razor
  • Shaving Cream
  • Toothpaste
  • Toothbrush
  • Floss
  • Deodorant

There has never been a better time to support this project. COVID-19 is pushing our most vulnerable populations, including veterans, to the edge of poverty and homelessness. Struggling for the basics, Rhode Island veterans are without essential toiletries like soap, shampoo and deodorant.

But your gift today can provide not only critical hygiene supplies but instant relief and comfort to veterans struggling for the basics.

There are no funds in our budget for this special project.  That’s because the pandemic has caused unprecedented demand for hygiene essentials. We have filled every request for supplies from our ten nonprofit partners but it has taken a financial toll.

Your action is needed today. A global pandemic is not a time to be without hygiene essentials.  Please donate today to provide toiletries to local homeless and at-risk veterans.
